Netrunner 25 Shockworm revives with Debian 12 base & KDE 5.27.5

Netrunner 25 "Shockworm" has been launched, marking the comeback of the Debian-based Linux distribution after a two-year break since version 23 "Vaporwave." This new version is built on the Debian 12 "Bookworm" base, shifting from its previous Debian 11 foundation to offer improved stability and updated packages. It features Linux kernel 6.1 LTS for long-term support and security, and includes the KDE Plasma 5.27.5 desktop environment for a polished user experience on a reliable Debian framework.

The distribution comes with a comprehensive suite of preinstalled applications like Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird, LibreOffice, and messaging apps such as Telegram and WhatsApp. Netrunner 25 supports Flatpak by default, enabling easy installation of additional apps, and includes built-in multimedia codec support for seamless media playback.
