Opera partners with Google to integrate Gemini across the company’s entire browser lineup
Opera has announced that it has reached an agreement with Google to bring Google Gemini to its full browser lineup, re launching its previous Aria assistant under the new "Opera AI" branding. The new system is integrated directly into Opera One, Opera GX, and Opera Neon through a side panel that lets users interact with web content, summarize pages, research topics, and compare information across tabs with context aware responses powered by Gemini.
Opera AI also adds voice input and output, along with support for analyzing files such as images and video. It runs on a new architecture adapted from the agentic Neon browser, which Opera says delivers a noticeable speed gain of about 20 percent compared to the previous implementation.
Opera notes that users can control what browsing context is shared with the AI, and that Opera Neon offers access to Gemini 3 Pro for those who want the most advanced model available.
