Adobe Firefly adds prompt based video editing, 4K upscaling, and more third party models
Adobe has released a major update to its Firefly platform, rolling out the Firefly AI video editor in full beta to all users after a private beta period. The web based editor adds prompt driven video editing, allowing users to adjust specific elements like colors, camera angles, and visual details using text prompts without regenerating entire clips.
The editor also introduces a timeline based interface for manual control over frames, audio, sound effects, and music. Firefly supports instruction based edits using third party models such as Runway Aleph for targeted changes like weather adjustments, contrast tweaks, and zooms. Adobe’s Firefly propietary video model also now supports camera motion reference by using a start frame and a reference video to recreate camera movement.
Video upscaling to 1080p and 4K is now available through integration with Topaz Labs’ Astra model, and a new integration with FLUX.2 as well. Adobe is offering unlimited generations across all supported models through January 15 for users on eligible Firefly plans, including Pro, Premium, and higher credit tiers.
