WhatsApp is adding a new activity notes feature called About for user profiles

WhatsApp is reintroducing its deprecated 'About' feature, allowing users to post short status updates visible to their contacts similar to Instagram Notes. These updates appear on the profile and at the top of chats.

About messages expire after 24 hours by default, though users can shorten or extend their duration in the settings. Visibility can also be limited to contacts or opened to anyone who views the profile.

Meta is rolling this out across WhatsApp on mobile this week, aligning the app with similar features already found on Instagram and Facebook.
