EndeavourOS Ganymede ISO launches with KDE Plasma 6.5, & improved NVIDIA handling

EndeavourOS has released the new Ganymede stable ISO, its first major refresh in eight months, and providing a fully updated Arch Linux base. The update includes KDE Plasma 6.5.3, Calamares 25.11, Firefox 145, Linux kernel 6.17, Mesa 25.2, xorg-server 21.1.20, and nvidia-utils 580.105.

The release introduces improved NVIDIA handling, automatically choosing between the proprietary nvidia driver and the nvidia open variant in both live and installed systems. Broadcom wireless modules are no longer enabled by default to avoid conflicts. Users are prompted when compatible hardware is found, and the driver is installed only if they choose to enable it.

The team notes that development remains active despite the long gap since Mercury Neo. A known issue may prevent Windows 11 from booting when installed on a separate drive using systemd boot, while setups on the same drive and GRUB users are not affected. Other changes include updated icon naming for GTK desktops, the switch to the Qt6 virtual keyboard for SDDM in Plasma, smaller adjustments to LXDE and i3 editions, and availability of the new ISO for clean installs, with upgrades provided through pacman -Syu.
