Kodi 21.2 has been released with library management, video playback & HDR improvements

Kodi 21.2 "Omega" has been released, focusing on bug fixes to enhance stability and performance. The update improves library management, restoring the speed of adding movies to the level of Kodi 20 "Nexus." UPnP server enhancements facilitate smoother playback with software like UMS and Gerbera. Video playback sees improvements in HDR support and display handling on GL/GLES platforms, with resolved HDR switching issues and Blu-Ray menu multi-threading errors.

A bug affecting video bookmarks in the presence of chapters has been fixed, as well as album duration issues in MKA files and missing context menu options in the music section. File system updates include credential entry for SMB shares on POSIX platforms and an update to cURL version 8.10.0 for better FTP TLS compatibility.

Windows users benefit from crash fixes and enhanced HDR support. The update process has been simplified, allowing installation over existing Kodi 21.x versions, with a recommendation to back up data. Android updates roll out in stages, and Windows users should update their Visual C++ runtime for add-on compatibility.
