Canon launches Live Switcher Mobile for multi-camera live streaming on iPhones/iPads

Canon has introduced the Live Switcher Mobile app for iPhones and iPads, aimed at simplifying multi-camera setups and live streaming to platforms like YouTube and Facebook.

The app connects up to three iOS/iPadOS devices (version 16+) via Wi-Fi for easy camera switching, with intervals of 8–20 seconds. It supports text, graphics, real-time comments (Facebook/YouTube), screen sharing, and reaction videos, ideal for gamers and app demos. To use the multi-camera functionality, Live Switcher Mobile must be installed on all participating devices. Advanced features, such as resolution changes and ad removal, are available through a subscription plan.

The app is currently limited to iPhones and iPads with iOS and iPadOS 16, with no support for Android or even Canon's own digital cameras, although the company plans to add this functionality in future updates. Live Switcher Mobile presents itself as an alternative to other apps like Live Cut Switcher or Apple's Final Cut Camera app.
