JetBrains Fleet 1.40 brings new Android Compose Preview, PHP & Groovy inlay hints and more

JetBrains has released version 1.40 of Fleet, its versatile cross-platform code editor. This update introduces Compose Preview for Android, a significant enhancement for mobile developers. The feature allows for advanced preview customization tools similar to those in Android Studio, enabling multi-preview, parameter providers, and annotation options. Additionally, Android previews can now be rendered from common code, offering flexibility for projects with both Android and regular JVM targets.

Fleet 1.40 also adds inlay hints for generating documentation in PHP and Groovy, expanding on its existing support for Java, Kotlin, and JavaScript. A new shortcut for the Build & Refresh action in Android Preview has been introduced, improving workflow efficiency. The Generate Code template is now hidden when logged out, and the editor auto-scrolls with AI-generated content.

The update also includes several minor enhancements and various bug fixes, further refining the user experience.
