ByteDance to shut down TikTok Music streaming service globally by November 2024

ByteDance has announced the shutdown of its music streaming service, TikTok Music, effective November 28, 2024. A notice on the TikTok Music website states: “We are sorry to inform you that TikTok Music will be closing on 28 November 2024. We would like to thank you for all of your support, and we hope you enjoyed the music.”

Post-closure, access to all functionalities, including login and subscriptions, will cease, and user accounts along with personal data will be automatically deleted.

Launched in 2023, TikTok Music aimed to compete with Spotify and Apple Music but was limited to Indonesia, Brazil, Australia, Singapore, and Mexico. Users have until October 28th to transfer their playlists to other platforms, and request a refund if needed.
