Midjourney launches web version of its AI image editor with inpainting & outpainting tools
Midjourney has launched a new dedicated online version of its popular AI image editor, until recently limited exclusively to use on Discord. The new editor integrates advanced features such as inpainting, outpainting/canvas extension, and other tools into a unified platform, as well as including several enhanced tools like a virtual "brush" tool for more precise edits, replacing the older square selector and lasso tools.
The editor is available to users who have created at least 10 images on the platform and can be accessed at midjourney.com/imagine. In addition to the new editor, Midjourney has introduced message mirroring between its web platform and Discord. This feature synchronizes messages sent in Web Rooms with their corresponding Discord channels, enhancing communication and engagement within the Midjourney community.
Midjourney CEO David Holz emphasized that the update makes editing more seamless and user-friendly while expanding its appeal beyond Discord, making it a stronger alternative to AI image generators like DALL-E 3 or Stable Diffusion
