Manjaro Linux introduces Immutable version for community testing

Manjaro Linux has entered the initial testing phase for its new Manjaro Immutable version, utilizing Arkdep, a toolkit for creating, deploying, and maintaining an immutable, atomic, btrfs-based system. The primary aim is to gather community feedback on the technology behind Manjaro Immutable, though the release is experimental and not indicative of the final product.

The Manjaro team advises against installing this version as a primary operating system due to the lack of support guarantees. Philip Müller from the Manjaro team highlighted its potential usefulness for gaming handhelds and businesses looking to streamline maintenance.

This experimental version may serve as the foundation for the upcoming Manjaro Gaming Edition, planned for inclusion in the Orange Pi Neo gaming handheld. It's also worth mentioning that this version is not intended to replace the standard Manjaro. For more details, users can refer to the official announcement.
