Drupal 11 launches with new features, including recipes and single-directory components

Drupal 11 has been officially released, marking a significant milestone for the platform. This new version continues the trend of increased innovation in Drupal with numerous new features and improvements.

Two key transformative features in Drupal 11 are Recipes (experimental) and Single-Directory Components (SDCs). Recipes allow for the addition of new functionalities to websites through predefined configurations, simplifying the process of enhancing website capabilities. SDCs streamline front-end development by providing a component-based workflow where all necessary code for each component resides in a single, self-contained directory.

These features, especially Recipes and SDCs, are expected to play a foundational role in future projects like Drupal Starshot. Drupal 11 is the product of contributions from 1,858 individuals across 590 organizations, highlighting the strong and healthy community behind Drupal.
