WordPress 6.6 released with improved site editor, updated publishing flow, and much more
WordPress has just launched version 6.6 for both its paid hosted website creation platform, WordPress.com, and its free and open-source content management system (CMS) for developers and site creators, WordPress.org.
WordPress.com 6.6 introduces a side-by-side default layout for page viewing and editing, improved navigation, an updated publishing flow, and the ability to override synced patterns with custom content. It also includes automatic plugin rollbacks for failed updates, new customization options, section-specific styles, and enhanced Block Bindings.
WordPress.org 6.6, named “Dorsey” after Big Band leader Tommy Dorsey, offers more design options for block themes, a simplified page layout in the site editor, and auto-updates for plugins with rollback safety. Additional features include customization for synced patterns, performance boosts, and accessibility improvements.
