Qwant integrates AI into its search engine and announces new upcoming features for 2024

Qwant, the European web search engine renowned for its privacy focus, has announced a new evolution in its platform: the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into its search functionality. This update is presented as the first in a series of enhancements set to roll out across 2024.

The updated Qwant now features AI-generated answers to user queries, providing brief responses to assist with everyday searches. Another new feature, “Summary”, allows users to generate a compact summary of any web page with a single click.

To make use of these new features, users will need to sign up for a free Qwant account, which will also grant them access to upcoming features.

Qwant maintains its privacy-focused approach, not storing search history or selling personal data. However, it has stated that the use of these new, advanced, optional features will necessitate the sharing of certain data with partners. This sharing process is thoroughly explained upon account creation, and users have the option to opt-out.
