Kdenlive 24.05 introduces multi format rendering, automatic subtitle translation, and more
Kdenlive, a free and open source video editor, has released version 24.05. This update reintroduces the Audio Capture feature and enhances stability while adding new functionalities such as Group Effects and Automatic Subtitle Translations. The Group Effects feature now allows users to control parameters affecting all effects within a group of clips. Kdenlive now also supports rendering videos in multiple aspect ratios — horizontal, vertical, and square — from a single project.
A notable addition is the ability to automatically translate subtitles using SeamlessM4T locally, without needing an internet connection. The update also brings significant performance improvements, including faster clip movement with the spacer tool, quicker sequence switching, enhanced AV1 NVENC support, and more efficient timeline operations. The release also includes various quality of life, user interface, and usability enhancements.
