Google Meet introduces adaptive audio to sync microphones from all the laptops in a room
Google has announced the introduction of adaptive audio in Google Meet, aimed at creating ad-hoc meeting spaces using multiple laptops without the issues of echo and feedback. This feature is particularly useful for organizations lacking dedicated video conferencing rooms or equipment.
Adaptive audio automatically detects multiple laptops in close proximity and synchronizes microphones and speakers for a seamless audio experience, allowing teams to meet anywhere with just their laptops.
The feature will be enabled by default and can be turned off via Settings Audio Adaptive audio. A gradual rollout has begun on May 22, 2024, with full availability expected by June 5, 2024. Adaptive audio will be available to Google Workspace customers with Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Business, Gemini Education, Gemini Education Premium, and the AI Meetings and Messaging add-on.
