WordPress 6.5 brings a new Font Library, detailed style revisions, and new developer tools
WordPress 6.5 introduces numerous new features aimed at improving user experience and providing advanced tools for developers. The Font Library addition allows users to manage and activate both local and Google Fonts across their site's Block theme, eliminating the need for coding when styling content. The update also includes comprehensive revisions with detailed timestamps, summaries, and paginated lists of all changes, extending to templates and template parts.
New features such as Advanced Background and Shadow Tools enhance design flexibility by enabling users to control background image properties and add box shadow support to various block types. The Data Views feature allows users to access and organize site data in table or grid views, providing options for toggling fields and making bulk changes. Link controls have also been added for an intuitive link-building experience.
The Interactivity API and Block Bindings API have been introduced for developers, allowing them to create interactive front-end experiences with blocks, and connect core block attributes to custom fields and other dynamic content using the Block Bindings API.
