Nextcloud unveils Hub 8 with enhanced features and benefits for the public sector
Nextcloud has unveiled Nextcloud Hub 8 at the Nextcloud Enterprise Day in Munich, a release that brings several new features tailored for the public sector.
One of the key updates in this release is the Nextcloud Assistant version 2. The new version includes Context Chat and Context Write, which enhance the context awareness mechanics of the Assistant, allowing it to have a more comprehensive understanding of your work.
Nextcloud Teams, an evolution of Circles, is also included in the Hub. It features a team overview, quick access to shared resources, and a dashboard widget.
The Mail in Nextcloud Hub 8 has been upgraded to operate at twice the speed of the previous version. The user interface has been improved for a smoother experience, and AI-powered suggestions have been added to expedite the process of replying to emails.
The new version also introduces federated messaging in Talk, which includes message editing and several improvements in conferencing to enhance efficiency.
Nextcloud Hub 8 also enhances file access and management. It introduces a personal files section for a private, clutter-free space, one-time links for secure file sharing, and new interactive widgets for previewing and editing files linked across Hub. Navigation for photos has also been optimized.
Furthermore, Nextcloud Hub 8 has received a European accessibility certification, which means that the enterprise and public sector users can be confident in the accessibility standards of Nextcloud. It also brings improvements in Tables, more automation in Forms, major performance updates in Office, integration with Paperless-ngx, and numerous other new features and enhancements.
