xAI has officially open-sourced its AI chatbot Grok, now available on GitHub
As announced by Elon Musk on March 11th, xAI has now officially open-sourced Grok, its artificial intelligence chatbot. The open release is now accessible on GitHub, allowing developers and researchers to use and build upon the model. This move could potentially influence future updates of Grok as xAI competes with other tech giants such as OpenAI's ChatGPT, Meta's Meta Llama, and Google Gemini
The open release includes the base model weights and network architecture of the Grok-1, a 314 billion parameter Mixture-of-Experts model, as per the company's blog post. The model, from an October checkpoint, has not been specifically fine-tuned for any applications, including dialogue.
The release is under the Apache 2.0 license, allowing commercial use, but does not include the training data or real-time data connections to X.

From what I understand, you'd need something like 8 x H100 GPUs to run Grok, and the training data itself is not available.
I like that it's a non-woke AI model, and designed to ingest knowledge almost in real-time.
How many people are still pissed off about Yuzu and Citra getting taken down but Grok is still here?
Oh well. Maybe we'll see Grok get used in HuggingChat, I dunno.
are you talking about emulators? wtf do those have to do with this?
Big rich people winning lawsuits better than smaller creators, and yes.
