Pinterest launches a new 'Body Type Ranges' tool in the U.S

Pinterest has unveiled its 'body type ranges' tool in the U.S., following successful trials in Canada. The tool allows users to filter search results according to various body types, with four specific types displayed at the top of the search results page.

The feature, currently limited to women's fashion and wedding ideas, allows users to save a preferred body type option on their device if selected twice, with plans to expand the tool to men's fashion later this year.

The tool utilizes Pinterest's computer vision technology, currently awaiting patent, to analyze shape, size, and form across over 3.5 billion images on the platform to identify different body types. Pinterest also provides other inclusive tools like skin tone ranges to boost user representation and assist users in finding more personalized content.
