KeePassXC 2.7.7 adds Passkey support and improves import from 1Password and Bitwarden

KeePassXC, the renowned cross-platform password manager based on KeePass, has unveiled its latest version, 2.7.7. This recent update introduces a host of new features and enhancements, designed to streamline workflows and better integrate with modern authentication services.

One of the key features of this release includes the official implementation of Passkeys for KeePassXC. This functionality utilizes the existing browser integration service to both store and utilize Passkeys for authentication purposes.

The 2.7.7 version also introduces an upgraded import wizard. KeePassXC now supports data import from the most recent versions of 1Password and Bitwarden. Additionally, the import workflow has been enhanced, with improved CSV handling and the capability to import into an existing database.

This update also presents a significantly more efficient database unlock experience. All additional fields have been eliminated, unless actively used, and hardware keys, such as YubiKey and OnlyKey, are now automatically detected when connected to your computer.

Furthermore, KeePassXC 2.7.7 also addresses multiple Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) issues, along with several other bugs and annoyances, contributing to a more seamless user experience.
