GitHub Copilot Chat is now generally available in all JetBrains IDEs
GitHub has made a significant announcement, stating that Copilot Chat in JetBrains IDEs is now generally available for all Copilot Individual, Business, and Enterprise customers, following a private beta. GitHub Copilot Chat, powered by GPT-4, offers real-time guidance directly within a range of JetBrains IDEs, including PyCharm, IntelliJ IDEA, WebStorm, Rider, among others.
This tool is contextually-aware, tailoring suggestions to the specific coding tasks at hand. It even offers the ability to explicitly add files for reference. The tool's capabilities extend to assisting with complex concepts, code explanations, unit testing, and many other use cases. It also seamlessly adapts to your preferred language style, enabling developers to innovate efficiently.
Access to the Copilot Chat within JetBrains IDEs is automatically granted for Copilot Individual users. However, for Copilot Business and Enterprise users, access to Copilot chat in IDEs needs to be granted by your organization admins. Once access is granted, users can refer to GitHub's Getting started guide for further assistance.
