2FA app Aegis releases v3.0 with Material 3 redesign, new features and enhancements
Aegis, the open-source two-factor authentication (2FA) app for Android, has launched its version 3.0. This update introduces numerous new features, enhancements, and bug fixes. Among the new features is a Material 3/Material You redesign, and the automatic assignment of icons to entries.
In addition to the redesign, Aegis 3.0 also introduces the ability to select all entries simultaneously. The update also allows users to sort entries based on the last time they were used.
The new version includes support for importing 2FAS schema v4 backups. It also provides clarifications related to importing and backup permission errors. The update prepares for the future ability to assign a single entry to multiple groups.
Performance improvements are another focus of the Aegis 3.0 update. These are particularly noticeable when scrolling through an entry list with many icons. The third-party licenses list also sports a new look with this update.
Aegis 3.0 addresses a bug that was causing failures when directly importing from Authy using root. Additionally, the update includes other minor glitch fixes and stability improvements.
