Bitwarden rolls out highly-requested autofill feature inside form fields

Bitwarden, the widely-used password manager, has rolled out a new inline autofill menu option in form fields, a feature that has been highly requested by its users. This upgrade enhances the user experience by enabling faster login credential autofill.

The new autofill option manifests as an icon within relevant form fields, showcasing a menu of credentials associated with the respective web service or account. This simplifies the login process, particularly when multiple logins are stored for the same website.

The autofill menu is specifically designed to fill credentials only when a user selects a form field they wish to interact with. This feature safeguards users against potentially harmful form fields or web pages, and guarantees sensitive data will not be populated without the user's permission. For an added layer of security, users can choose to password-protect their login information when using the autofill feature.

This new autofill feature is not activated by default for existing users, but can be easily enabled within Bitwarden settings. It's presently accessible in all supported browsers. Support for self-hosted users is slated for a future release.
