Apple rolls out major iCloud, Apple TV, Music, and Devices update for Windows user
Apple has released a major update for iCloud on Windows, version 15.0.214, featuring a new design and improved features for Windows 10 and Windows 11 users. The setup process for iCloud has been simplified and a notable addition is the capability to track the syncing status of iCloud content directly from the app. The update also strengthens security by introducing support for physical security keys for Apple ID sign-ins.
The new update improves photo syncing performance and optimizes media management across devices. Compatibility with Outlook has been enhanced, resolving previous issues with contact and calendar syncing for users with the latest version of Windows 11. The update also adds dark mode support and overhauls the Account Details page, allowing users to view all their Apple and non-Apple devices, although the ability to de-authorize devices is not supported through the iCloud app on Windows.
Simultaneously, Apple has updated its Apple Music, Apple Devices, and Apple TV apps for Windows, concluding over a year of public testing. These apps, launched in early 2023, mark Apple's transition away from the iTunes app on Windows, in line with its strategy to offer standalone apps for its services across platforms.
