Perplexity launches AI Shopping Assistant, enabling purchases directly from the platform

Perplexity has launched an AI-powered shopping assistant that allows users to research and make purchases directly on the search engine. It features “Buy with Pro,” enabling U.S.-based Perplexity Pro users to purchase from select merchants with saved shipping and billing details, plus free shipping on all orders.

The service includes “Snap to Shop,” a tool for finding similar products through photos, similar to Google Lens, eliminating the need for specific names. Users also receive objective product recommendations via detailed, non-sponsored product cards for easy decision-making.

With Shopify integration, Perplexity offers real-time product information from Shopify-powered businesses in the U.S. Additionally, the Perplexity Merchant Program helps merchants enhance product visibility, checkout integration, free API access, and access analytics, focusing on accuracy without relying on sponsored ads.
