Microsoft Teams unveils new AI interpreter for real-time voice dubbing during meetings
Microsoft Teams is set to launch a new AI-powered real-time interpreter feature to enhance multilingual communication during meetings. This tool uses speech-to-speech translation to simulate the speaker's voice in another language, preserving its tone. The feature will initially support nine languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish, and is expected to be available for preview in early 2025.
In addition to the interpreter feature, Microsoft Teams will introduce new Microsoft Copilot features, which can now understand and summarize visual content shared during meetings, such as Microsoft PowerPoint slides or web pages. Copilot will also offer quick summaries of shared files within Teams chat.
Further, Teams will implement Super Resolution technology to boost video quality on Copilot Plus PCs and provide new image processing APIs for Windows app developers.
