Kagi launches Kagi Translate, a free and privacy-focused AI-powered translation service
Kagi, the company known for its search engine and Orion web browser, has unveiled a new translation service: Kagi Translate. This service utilizes advanced language models to provide translations that Kagi claims are superior to existing options like Google Translate and DeepL. Users can access translations by simply adding translate.kagi.com/
before any URL or by installing a browser bookmarklet, eliminating the need for dedicated apps.
Kagi Translate supports 244 languages and operates with zero tracking, ensuring user privacy. Additionally, Kagi plans to integrate this service into Kagi Search as a widget, allowing for instant translation within search results. The service is free and available to all users.

Amazing article! I wouldn't have known if it wasn't for this
Kagi continues to impress me. Here is hoping privacy first becomes the norm.
Pretty good, but kinda sad there isn't a differentiator for formal and informal german translations
It's pretty slow (~20s for a page for a moderate length page) and use Cloudflare for bot verification. But they support more then 200 languages and for the few languages that I've checked, it pretty good. The integrated translation tool in Firefox suits me fine (even if limited to only few languages), and is totally offline so respects user privacy perfectly.
tried it, seems decent, I've bookmarked it for later use
