ForkLift 4.2 introduces improved Color Tags, Remote Pane Control, and SFTP updates

ForkLift 4.2 has been released with several improvements, including the ability for users to display up to three color tags in List View for better organization, and set a preferred pane for remote connections, choosing between Active, Right, or Left Pane to enhance control and minimize errors.

Pane locking ensures remote favorites and the Connect Panel open in the designated pane, while horizontal layouts keep usability intuitive by having the Left Pane as the top and the Right Pane as the bottom. Quick pane switching is made easy through manual tab dragging or the View Swap Panes command.

Enhancements to SFTP connections include displaying Owner and Group information in the Info Window, providing greater insight into file properties. Remote preview capabilities have been improved, allowing users to refresh file views for updated previews. Icon View updates address rendering and refresh issues for better usability. The context menu for sidebar favorites has been reorganized for easier access, and critical bug fixes have been implemented to resolve unresponsiveness during synchronization with elevated privileges, saving favorite paths, permission issues in the Info Window, and various stability improvements.
