Jellyfin 10.10 released with enhanced transcoding, new Media Segments, FFmpeg 7.0 and more
Jellyfin has announced the release of its latest stable version, Jellyfin 10.10.0, introducing a range of new features, improvements, and bug fixes. This version is built on FFmpeg 7.0 and offers enhanced media management capabilities. The Jellyfin server now supports Media Segments, allowing clients to utilize additional video information for extended actions.
Keyframe extraction has been implemented to improve image generation time considerably, albeit with reduced frame accuracy, which is generally acceptable for users with longer trickplay frame durations. The update also brings significant advancements in transcoding and playback, including software tonemapping support for HDR10, HLG, and DoVi, initial support for DoVi Profile 10, and Dolby AC-4 audio. Additionally, more stereo downmixing algorithms and QSV device selection are now available.
Users can now choose which plugins provide lyrics to their music libraries, enhancing the variety in lyrics support. Audio tag scanning has been improved for better reliability and consistency, and home videos will retain their rotation metadata. Jellyfin 10.10.0 also supports CBT and CB7 books, client-side rendering of PGS subtitles, and introduces auto-scrolling lyrics along with a lyrics' editor interface.

Really cool improvements. Is it about time for me to leave Plex? 🤔
