Google Docs introduces document tabs for better organization and collaboration

Google has announced the introduction of document tabs in Google Docs, aimed at enhancing organization and collaboration for longer documents. This new feature allows users to draft and build content in a structured manner, facilitating quick navigation and maintaining focus. Tabs can break down extensive documents into manageable sections, and subtabs can be created for additional structure.

An added feature allows users to assign emojis to each tab, providing a visual representation of its content and simplifying navigation. The emoji appears next to the tab title in the left panel, replacing the default article icon. The rollout of this feature began on October 7, 2024, with full availability expected by October 21, 2024.
