The Browser Company launches Arc Search, a new standalone AI-powered search app for iPhone
The Browser Company, creators of the recently launched Arc Browser, has released a new iPhone app named Arc Search, a standalone search app that combines AI chatbot functionalities with web browsing, offering a cleaner, distraction-free and more focused on query findings experience, presenting specific results through an AI-generated webpage with several points of interest within the browser interface, created based on user search queries.
Whenever a user clicks on the "Browse for me" button, the app will use AI to scrutinize a minimum of six websites and present relevant information in an organized webpage with several key points within the search results. The goal is to simplify and directly answer the user's question instead of providing a list of external sites (kind of resembling how Perplexity works). The app also includes a "Dive Deeper" section to verify the information's credibility with external sources, in addition to other features such as a reader mode, bookmarking functionality, automatic tab archiving, and built-in blocking of GDPR banners, ads, and trackers.
The app allows users to conduct searches using traditional services such as Google Search, Microsoft Bing, DuckDuckGo, and Ecosia, along with the AI-driven "Search for me" feature, backed by large-language models from OpenAI and other providers.
