Slack launches 'Catch Up' feature for Tinder-like unread notifications management
Slack has launched a new feature, "Catch Up", in its mobile apps to enhance the management of unread messages and notifications. The feature displays unread messages from different channels and direct messages in a slideshow format, allowing users to swipe right or left to mark messages as read or unread (Kinda like Tinder), or a long-press to save important unread messages for later. This is particularly useful at the start and end of a workday, enabling users to promptly respond to urgent notifications and review missed messages.
The feature, available on iOS and Android, will also be integrated with artificial intelligence (AI) to smartly summarise and prioritise messages. An iPad version is also in progress.
The feature will be accessible to paid Slack app users. Akshay Bakshi, Slack's product management director, highlights the effectiveness of Catch Up for users to review messages efficiently before or after their workday in focused sessions.
