Beeper Mini removed from Play Store amid shift to comprehensive chat app development
Beeper Mini, known for bringing Messages to Android users, has been removed from the Google Play Store after a series of hassles and an increasingly complicated set of workarounds to access the service.
In reaction to Apple's intervention, Beeper shifted its focus to provide alternative solutions for users involving iPhones or Macs. Nevertheless, Beeper Mini was removed from the Google Play Store a few weeks ago, as officially announced in a recent communication to Beeper Cloud users. Despite Beeper Mini's removal, Beeper Cloud, which includes iMessage integration as a "Labs" feature, remains accessible. Users can sideload the app if they wish to continue using Beeper Mini.
Beeper's future plans indicate a shift towards the Beeper Android app, which is currently under development. This app will include all 14 other chat networks, and the company is also working on significant improvements for its desktop app, including speed enhancements and better integration with LinkedIn, Instagram, and Google Messages.
