
Alacritty terminal emulator unveils version 0.13 with new features and improvements
Alacritty, the modern and cross-platform terminal emulator, has announced the release of its version 0.13. This latest version includes a number of updates, including an upgraded minimum Rust version requirement, now at 1.70.0, and a switch to scdoc for the generation of man pages.
The new release also introduces warnings for unused configuration file options, an addition that is part of a wider range of new features, improvements, and bug fixes.
Among the key highlights of Alacritty 0.13 are:
- A new config option persist in the hints config section
- The ability to dynamically load conpty.dll on Windows
- Support for keybindings with dead keys
- Back/Forward mouse buttons support in bindings
- Copy global IPC options (-w -1) for new windows
- Bindings for creating and navigating tabs on macOS
- Support for the startup notify protocol, allowing the initial window to be raised on Wayland/X11
These updates are designed to enhance the user experience and provide a more streamlined and efficient terminal emulator service.
