Rclone 1.64 unveils support for Proton Drive and enhanced transfer speeds & memory sharing
Rclone, the robust command-line program used for managing files on cloud storage, has unveiled its latest version, 1.64. The new iteration includes a long-awaited feature: support for Proton Drive, Proton's secure, privacy-centric cloud storage and file-sharing solution.
In addition to Proton Drive, version 1.64 of Rclone extends support to more providers, encompassing Quatrix, and new Amazon S3 and Jottacloud providers. The updated version also introduces multi-thread transfers when moving files to Local, Amazon S3, Azure Blob, Backblaze B2, Oracle Object Storage, and SMB. This feature significantly enhances transfer speed between two network sources. Furthermore, in-memory buffering is now unified across all backends, resulting in improved memory sharing.
Rclone 1.64 has also introduced a new command, 'rclone config redacted', designed to display redacted config. The latest release incorporates new features across various areas including accounting, bisync, build, cmd, and config. It also addresses several bug fixes and introduces a range of smaller enhancements.
