Microsoft releases Windows Terminal Preview 1.19 with new features and bug fixes

Microsoft has just unveiled Windows Terminal Preview version 1.19, introducing several new features including Broadcast Input, Web Search, the Suggestions UI, and more.

Broadcast Input is a new feature that permits the content from a single terminal pane to be relayed to all other panes within a tab. This enhances the multi-tasking capabilities within the terminal environment.

The addition of the Web Search feature to the right-click context menu enables users to perform web searches directly from their terminal. This feature is activated by simply selecting text within the terminal and opting for the web search function.

In a playful twist, users can now input emojis into their Command Prompt, extending the expressive possibilities within the terminal.

The Windows Terminal Preview now supports unfocused acrylic. This aesthetic update means that when Windows Terminal windows are not in focus, they'll present an acrylic appearance rather than an opaque one.

The Suggestions UI is a fresh user interface element that offers various types of text suggestions to users. These can range from command history, saved commands, and more, enhancing productivity and ease of use.

In addition to these new features, Windows Terminal Preview 1.19 also brings other enhancements, performance and accessibility improvements, and bug fixes.

In parallel, Microsoft is updating Windows Terminal to version 1.18, integrating all features detailed in a previous blog post. The continuous updates and improvements to Windows Terminal demonstrate Microsoft's commitment to providing a robust and user-friendly terminal environment.
