Microsoft is adding a new "Vertical view" to Edge's "Split screen" feature

Microsoft has recently been testing a new enhancement to the “split screen” feature of Microsoft Edge, a function that allows users to view two websites simultaneously in one window, and that was introduced earlier this year. This new development, dubbed the “Vertical view”, was first noticed by Leopeva64 on X (formerly Twitter), and is currently only available in the Canary channel of Edge.

The updated Split Screen feature in Microsoft Edge enables users to display web pages either side-by-side or stacked vertically. This layout can be adjusted at any time by clicking on a three-dot button, offering a flexible browsing experience.

In addition to the Vertical view, the latest release of Edge also includes new Dev tool capabilities for dialogue preview boxes. This release also offers improved features and bug fixes, further enhancing the overall performance and user experience of the Edge browser.
