Matter Reader introduces Readable Podcasts to transcribe and sync podcast audio into text
Matter Reader is a great minimalist alternative to some of the most famous read-it-later apps like Pocket, and they have recently introduced a new feature called 'Readable Podcasts,' which converts podcast audio content into text, allowing users to interact with the transcript as they would with a saved article by highlighting, taking notes, and sharing quotes. The audio transcript and text are synchronized, facilitating smooth transitions between listening and reading. Users can also use the transcript to quickly locate key points in complex podcasts.
The Readable Podcasts feature combines a third-party transcription service with Matter's own speaker labeling and transcript quality system. Users can share the podcasts they want to transcribe with Matter via the iOS Share Sheet's Save extension, without having to leave their preferred podcast apps. The also supports multiple podcast platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify (not Spotify exclusives, as they’re not open access), Overcast, Castro, and Pocket Casts.
Matter's app, available on iOS and online, supports multiple languages for its Readable Podcasts feature, including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and more. The app offers a premium subscription that provides features like 2x speed listening with realistic voices and advanced AI transcriptions for podcasts and YouTube.
