Apple announced new iCloud storage plans of 6 TB and 12 TB at iPhone 15 event
Apple has announced new iCloud storage plans of 6 TB and 12 TB, a significant upgrade from the previous 2 TB limit. The announcement was made at the iPhone 15 event, and the new plans will be available to customers starting September 18.
As we mentioned previously, the maximum iCloud storage available until now was 2 TB costing $9.99 per month (pretty poor si lo comparamos con los planes ofrecidos por otras alternativas como Drive, OneDrive or the recent Proton Drive). The new plans are priced at $29.99 per month for 6 TB and $59.99 per month for 12 TB, and these plans can be shared among up to six people using Apple's Family Sharing feature. Subscribers will also have access to all iCloud+ features, such as iCloud Private Relay and HomeKit Secure Video.
It's still unclear if these new storage tiers can be combined with an Apple One Premier subscription, possibly offering up to 14 terabytes of storage. These new plans are designed for users who have used their previous maximum allocation of 4 TB, which included 2 TB from iCloud and 2 TB from Apple One. The increase in storage space is an interesting move, considering that lately, it seems like unlimited storage plans are disappearing, as in the case of OneDrive or Dropbox. So it is always important to have other alternatives at hand.
