Adobe announces that Photoshop web version is now available with Firefly-powered AI tools

After a nearly two-year beta testing period, Photoshop on the web is now available, complete with Firefly-powered AI tools such as generative fill and generative expand. These AI features, which are available for commercial use, enable users to swiftly modify images using text-based descriptions in over 100 languages, while simultaneously matching the original image’s lighting conditions and perspective.

Despite previous speculations of a freemium version, the online photo-editing tool still necessitates a substantial monthly subscription. Photoshop on the web allows users to initiate new projects from scratch or resume work on any existing Photoshop document online. Users also have the option to switch back to the desktop application with a simple click. Collaboration is made easy as users can invite others to join in by sharing a link, even if the invitees do not have a Photoshop subscription.

While Photoshop on the web does not currently possess all the features of its desktop counterpart, users can anticipate the arrival of favorite tools such as the patch tool, pen tool, smart object support, polygonal lasso, and more in the near future.
