Xbox-Discord integration has been enhanced with a new streaming feature
Microsoft has introduced a new feature that enhances its Xbox and Discord integration, allowing Xbox owners to stream gameplay directly to Discord users. This feature, currently being rolled out to Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha testing rings, enables friends to watch and provide advice during gameplay. It is anticipated to be available to all Xbox owners in the upcoming months.
The new feature can be accessed in the Parties & Chats section of the Xbox dashboard. After connecting to a Discord server, users will find the "Stream your game" option. Stream settings can be personalized for a unique user experience. However, the stream is only one-way, preventing users from watching their Discord friend's broadcasts.
This latest update follows the initial integration of Discord on Xbox launched in September, and the addition of a voice channel connection in November. Another recent update allows Discord users to see Xbox gamertags in calls. These enhancements hint at Microsoft's potential plans for future features, like the ability to view Discord streams on Xbox and engage in text chats.
