Independent search engine Mojeek enhances image search and adds new features

Mojeek, the privacy-focused search engine, has recently released improvements on its platform since its previous update in March. The most significant change is the replacement of Microsoft Bing with Openverse for image searches, in addition to Pixabay. This change provides users with access to a more extensive range of images sourced from independent creators and websites.

In addition, Mojeek has introduced a new feature, “Try elsewhere” buttons, which enables users to rerun their searches on other search engines such as Bing, Google, DuckDuckGo, Startpage, Ecosia, among others. This feature is especially beneficial when users are unable to find the desired results on Mojeek.

Mojeek has also expanded its search capabilities to include content from Substack’s independent writers through the recently launched Substack content search. This feature allows users to directly search for content from a wide range of independent writers on Substack.

Furthermore, Mojeek's support pages have undergone updates, featuring fresh imagery and updated methods where they were previously outdated.

Lastly, Mojeek has addressed some display issues with the infobox. Users should now experience fewer problems with the display of images, URLs, and other data elements when using the platform.
