GameStop will end support for its Cryptocurrency and NFT Wallet in November

GameStop has announced that it is ending support for its cryptocurrency and NFT wallet, known as GameStop Wallet, due to the "regulatory uncertainty of the crypto space". The discontinuation will become effective from November 1, 2023, and will also see the removal of the company's iOS and Chrome Extension wallets from the market.

Customers who currently use the GameStop Wallet will need to access their wallet using their 'Secret Passphrase' by October 1, 2023. This will allow them to recover their account using another compatible wallet.

This decision appears to have been under consideration for a while. In December 2022, GameStop made significant layoffs that heavily impacted the team working on the Ethereum-based blockchain wallet. The shut down of the GameStop Wallet appears to be a direct consequence of these changes.
