YouTube Premium and YouTube Music to increase subscription prices in the US
YouTube Premium, the ad-free subscription service offered by the video-sharing platform, is set to increase its monthly subscription fee by $2, bringing it to $13.99 for both new and existing subscribers in the United States. The cost of an annual subscription is also seeing a hike, with an increase of $20, making it $139.99.
In addition to YouTube Premium, the cost of YouTube Music, the platform's music streaming service, is also set to increase. The new price for this service will be $10.99 per month, reflecting similar price increases observed in other music streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Tidal.
These new subscription charges have not been officially announced by Google. However, the increased prices are already visible on the YouTube Premium page for new users. It is yet unclear whether these new rates will apply to existing subscribers for their next billing cycle.
At present, there is no indication of a price increase for YouTube Premium subscriptions in other regions such as the United Kingdom and India, where the prices appear to remain the same.
