System76 launches update for COSMIC Linux desktop environment with improved fractional scaling

System76, the developer behind the Linux desktop environment COSMIC, has recently launched an update for its software. COSMIC, which is built on top of GNOME and specifically designed for the Pop!_OS Linux distribution, now boasts several new features and enhancements.

The update primarily focuses on refining user experience by improving aspects like window resizing, wallpaper settings and scaling, notifications daemon, and multi-line text handling. One of the key upgrades is the improvements of the fractional scaling feature. Users can now access scaling options in 25% increments, such as 125%, 150%, 175%, and so on, by toggling the “Fractional Scaling” feature in the display settings.

This update is a part of System76's ongoing effort to enhance COSMIC and make it more user-friendly, while maintaining its core functionality and performance.
