Adobe adds 'Generative Expand' feature in Photoshop Beta and over 100 new languages support

Adobe has introduced a new feature, "Generative Expand," to its Adobe Photoshop beta testers, improving its generative AI abilities. Initially, Adobe Firefly AI beta focused on image generation and text effects, but it has since extended to vector recoloring and Generative Fill.

Generative Expand offers a simple solution for users to enlarge images in the Photoshop beta. It lets users broaden their image's canvas, creating a smooth extension of the scene, with or without guidance. Another function, Aspect Ratio Extend, allows users to transform horizontal images into magazine-cover sizes, making them suitable for various publications. The Crop & Expand feature lets users attain exact compositions by cropping in one direction and expanding in another.

Generative Expand supports several expansions, encouraging users to try it without any sort of use or time limit. The Rotate & Expand feature ensures no pixel loss when rotating images in the Crop tool, with expanded areas filled using Generative Expand. Generative Expand is highly versatile, allowing users to discover new ways to use its powerful features. The recent update also includes support for over 100 languages for both Generative Expand and Adobe's Generative Fill in the Photoshop beta (before it was only available in English). The official launch of these features in Photoshop is planned for the second half of 2023, after the beta testing phase.
