Slack launches Next-Generation API platform for easier integrations and automations
Slack, the popular workplace communication tool, has announced the launch of its new platform for developers, which promises to make it easier to create integrations and automations. The platform has been designed with a modular architecture, which ensures that developers can create Slack integrations and automations in a simpler manner. Slack is also providing the option to create custom integrations with ease, which will be enterprise-ready from the start. The new API has four key aspects: modular architecture, faster developer experience, secure deployment, and flexible user experience.
Apart from the modular architecture, the new API also boasts of an updated Workflow Builder, which will soon become a supercharged no-code tool for automating Slack and integrating everyday tools. Slack is giving free access to the next-gen platform from April 24 to October 31, 2023. Standard workflows that use only built-in Slack functions will remain free. However, premium workflows that use custom-coded functions will be chargeable once you exceed a generous usage threshold. Pricing will be based on the number of times someone in your workspace "runs" a premium workflow, allowing you to scale up or down usage as per your needs.
Furthermore, every paid Slack plan includes an allotment of premium workflow runs, allowing users to use premium workflows for free until they see their value. Slack has always been a popular communication tool for businesses, and with the new API platform, it aims to become an even more integral part of the workplace ecosystem. By providing developers with the necessary tools to create integrations and automations, Slack is making it easier for businesses to streamline their workflows and become more efficient. With the added benefit of a no-code tool, even non-technical users can automate their workflows, making Slack an even more indispensable tool for the modern workplace.
