Introducing Slack Canvas: The ultimate workspace for organizing and sharing information within the platform
Slack, the popular workplace communication platform, has launched a new feature called Slack Canvas to help teams create, organize, and share information. Canvas is a flexible space that can store a wide range of information, including text, files, apps, and rich media. This feature provides an evergreen place for teams to organize and share information of any kind, which saves time spent searching for information and enhances real-time collaboration in channels.

Canvas is integrated with Slack's new platform, which offers no-code workflows that allow teams to streamline their operations. It can be used to drive effective marketing campaigns with external partners by pairing it to a Slack Connect project channel. Sales teams can use canvas to keep everyone up to speed, track action items, log meeting notes, share relevant links and resources, and create an overview for the channel with FAQs. This feature enables teams to streamline their workflow management and maximize their effectiveness.
Canvas is of course a collaborative tool, so it allows teams to work together in real-time. Teams can bring a canvas into a huddle, allowing people to look on together, discuss live work and make edits in real time. Commenting and reacting, as well as revision history, are all built right into the canvas. Teams can choose who has view and edit access to canvases and decide which channels and people to share them with. This feature makes it easy for teams to collaborate and ensure that their knowledge base is always up to date.

Slack canvas is beginning to roll out today and will be available to all Slack users in the coming months. Customers on paid plans will have access to both standalone canvases and canvases that exist as part of channels and DMs. Free teams can also enjoy access to canvases in channels and DMs.
