Astropad Studio 5.3 offers faster wireless performance with Peer-to-Peer networking
Astropad Studio 5.3 has recently been updated with a new feature that Mac users are sure to appreciate. The new update now includes Peer-to-Peer networking, which provides faster wireless performance for Astropad Studio over WiFi. Peer-to-Peer networking bypasses the router, allowing you to connect your iPad directly and wirelessly to your Mac. This means you can cut out the middle man and enjoy better wireless performance, even if you don't have WiFi available.
Peer-to-Peer networking is an exclusive feature for Mac users, and it requires iOS 13 and MacOS 10.15 or later. Apple's Peer-to-Peer implementation only works with other Apple devices, so it won't work with Windows. This new feature reduces latency by 46%, resulting in smoother drawing. You can enable Peer-to-Peer before or after your apps connect, depending on your preference. To switch to Peer-to-Peer after your apps have connected, you need to open Astropad Studio's sidebar or click on the Connection dropdown menu located at the top of your screen selection area, depending on your device.
In addition to Peer-to-Peer networking, Astropad Studio 5.3 also supports tilt and azimuth support for Apple Pencil hover on iPadOS 16.4. Tilt is the angle at which the Apple Pencil is held, while azimuth is the direction of the tilt. Tilt support for Apple Pencil hover is only available in iPad Pro 2022 models running iPadOS 16.4. This means users of the latest iPad Pro models will be able to enjoy an even more precise and intuitive drawing experience with Astropad Studio.
